We had my family over after everyone got off work today. We were thrilled to report that we are having a very healthy baby. They were excited about that, but also wanted to know what this precious baby is. We filled up balloons with confetti (blue or pink???) and left some ballooons empty. We let all of the kids try to pop them. You'll notice in the video that Sister got a little anxious and took it into her own hands (feet)...
We are thrilled and a tad shocked to announce that Baby McKinnon is a girl! I told Clayton that he could get a boy dog so he wouldn't be so outnumbered. She is healthy and growing right on track (about 7 oz today). Her heartbeat today was 146 bpm. She was all over the place when the ultrasound tech was doing her measurements, but then decided to just hang out when she turned the screen around to let us see and explain everything to us. We are both kind of in shock... we were fully prepared for a boy. But the good Lord knows exactly what we need in our family and we coulddn't be more excited. Kate is excited, too. She wanted a sister all along and is pumped that she gets to wear her "baby dresses." Thank you all so much for your prayers, comments, texts, and emails today. We are very blessed with fabulous friends and family to share in this special time with us.
